Unfortunately, i think there has been a bias in feeling towards xavi from this page and it has really altered how much i want to listen to Jamie in recent times. I understand the frustration and have been a part of this club since 2004 sharing in the highs and big lows . Xavi have passed most of the expectations required from him since joining us , Picked us from a sinking ship level, helped us manage senior-aged players with their attitude, reregulated the dressing room, got us to the Champions League knockout stage, won us the league. Now he also has some expectations from the club of his life and one of it helps me get the players i love and like , doesn't just burn me out with the expectation of managing players you love especially when he has to compete with a structure as solid as real madrid consistently, we always complain about the roque situation, what if the young lad is still adapting to the culture of a brand new level or isn't responding efficiently to his new environment, we all know this happens and even Neymar struggled in his first season. We all sing the praise of today but Pep couldnt play with the likes of Ronaldinho eto and Deco in his first season for Barca and got rid of them quick enough even though these were easily among the top 5 players in the world. Pep benched ibrahimovic for half of a season after we signed him for good money and yet we managed that . Sanchez and Fabregas featured in only about 40% of games and started 10% in their first season after joining barca and the list could go on and on . My theory is Xavi have suffered a lot for us , he has carried a lot of the burden and baggage most managers from the past couldnt handle and he has made it look easy even when its killing him , observe his mood in recent times and you can tell he's burnt out , he decides to finally resign to get a break and then realizes that probably might not be the best decision for the club as we will struggle to hire an Elite coach , so he has decided to come back and continue the fight but now, maybe now he doesn't want to carry all of the burdens alone and cover all of the shit alone especially since the whole weight falls on him . maybe now he wants us to know the real challenges he's faced with and needs some of our love and support!

Those comments from Xavi are weird. If we look at the Barca squad, I thought on paper it is quite incredible. How can Xavi say times are hard and they cant compete with Real, if your team is absolutely packed with talent? With this kind of mindset, you cannot succeed. Then I agree he would have officially taken the stance that he "still believes in Xavi" but in the background he would have immidiately selected another coach so that Xavi didn't have an option to come back... I think we overthink this... We want a top coach, we don't have the money nor is there really a barca style top Coach available this year... So I truly believe that Laporta wanted to keeps things stable for one more year and then with a better financial position and better coach availability, Laporta would chose another coach next year. I think why he changed his mind was because if three things that all happen within a week: - during the sushi meeting, Xavi made a promise to the board that he would stop with his cheap excuses in front of the media... - during the sushi meeting, Xavi promised that he had a strategy to be competitive next year with minimal signings required - The whole Roque situation where Roque's and his agents interview make it it seem that Xavi is not giving Roque proper directions to improve as a spiteful reaction to the board/Deco bringing in Roque instead of the players Davis was asking for...
